Getting There

Ride Your Bike

All of the MAPJAM venues are within biking distance from each other. We encourage you to get on your bike and explore the East Austin neighborhood. Check out our map for bike friendly routes. We will provide ample bike racks at each venue.

Use Austin B-Cycle

Need a bike? Austin B-cycle is excited to announce that we will be popping-up at this year’s MapJam! Virtual corals will be set up at all MAPJAM venues to accept B-cycles from those heading east to enjoy the music. And, we’ll have bikes available if you’re ready to call it quits. Advanced purchase of a Day Pass is suggested! Remember, it’s better by B-cycle!

Take a Bus

Check out the CapMetro Trip Planner and plan your trip to East Austin!

Don’t Drive

There is no parking available for MAPJAM 2015. Please avoid clogging up streets and be respectful of surrounding neighborhoods. Pay attention to city signage and do not block driveways.

REMEMBER Y’ALL, BE RESPONSIBLE. DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE, WHETHER YOU’RE ON YOUR BIKE OR IN YOUR CAR.

About

MAPJAM is a daylong music festival that brings the Austin Music Map to life. The third annual MAPJAM will showcase some of the hidden musical spaces in one of the most exciting cities in the world. Hop on a bike and experience Austin's diverse music scene like never before.

This year, nine bands — from African marimba to hip hop and funk and folk — will perform in four locations across East Austin from 1pm to midnight. MAPJAM is FREE and open to the public. This is an all-ages event.

We’ll be documenting the festival throughout the day. You can help us by taking pictures, recording sound, and tagging your media #austinmusicmap to add it to our interactive website.

MAPJAM is a production of KUTX 98.9 - Austin's public radio station.
